Developing strategic thinking is crucial, but unfortunately, it is not enough to get you promoted or get ahead. You also need to show aka demonstrate your strategic thinking with sincerity. Bosses need to know what you are thinking, where you stand.  Unless you speak intellectually, you will be not be considered a strategic thinker.  In our last blog, we gave 4 tips to develop strategic thinking, now with this blog, we will be guiding you on how can you demonstrate them to your bench of judges.  Before you begin reading, we need you to have an open mind and think beyond. 

Are you Bringing Ideas to the Table?

Decision-making has always been considered an asset in big companies and life also. When you decide correctly in a short time, you have some certain quality that only a few people possess. Not every individual can make decisions faster, it shows you are a ‘thinker’. 

Your bosses, team leads need to know that you are one of a kind. They need to see your worthiness and that you can be a gem for the entire lead or company. By asking yourself the same question others might think about you- “Do people know where I stand?”. 

You can learn new things, read about trends, be more intellectual but unless and until you apply all ideas, it is a waste. Before going to a meeting, collect your thoughts, talk with yourself, clear your head- all this will prepare you for what’s coming ahead. 

Giving yourself and your thoughts 15-20 minutes daily can make your thinking sharper. Put more effort, results will show eventually. 

Show Initiative and Drive Strategic Change

Strategic thinking might get criticism, these ideas you share are new they can backfire but that does mean it’s ‘wrong’.

To be regarded as strategic thinking, you need to demonstrate that you can apply all your ideas and convert them into action. People see results, they cannot see your efforts. An author is considered an author only when his or her book gets published. 

No matter what position you are working in, you can put all your ideas into innovation and serve platter displaying its outcome. Channel the energy you can gain from strategic thinking, do not let it sit still in your mind. Logically communicate your ideas, show what you have achieved so far, do not let it slide as ‘backstory’. Most people make the mistake of underestimating their ideas and end up being someone they hate. Change can seem hard but in the end, it is worth it.  Boldly suggesting ideas and implementations can make you gain confidence, who knows you might discover new qualities. We can surprise ourselves in the most secretive way, we just need to channelize all our thinking.
