Backend Engineer (Mid–Senior)
- Location:- Remote / Hybrid
- Experience:- 4 – 8 Years
- Tech Stack: Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, REST APIs
Role Overview:
We are looking for a strong backend engineer with a solid foundation in backend systems to design and build scalable, secure, and maintainable services for the EventPulse platform. This role requires deep ownership of backend logic, data modeling, API design, and system reliability.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Own and implement core backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
- 2. Design robust, scalable REST APIs with proper versioning and error handling
- 3. Build and maintain backend systems with a strong focus on correctness, performance, and security
- 4. Implement authentication and authorization using AWS Cognito and JWT-based flows
- 5. Design and manage data models using PostgreSQL (RDS) and caching with Redis
- 6. Handle complex backend workflows, validations, and business logic
- 7. Integrate backend services with AWS ECS, ALB, and IAM
- 8. Ensure observability through structured logging, metrics, and tracing
- 9. Write clean, testable, well-documented code and review peer contributions
- 10. Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decisions
Required Skills:
Strong fundamentals in backend engineering, including:
- 1. API design and versioning
- 2. Data modeling and schema design
- 3. Error handling and edge cases
- 4. Authentication and authorization concepts
- 5. Proven experience with Node.js and TypeScript in production systems
- 6. Experience building and maintaining scalable backend services
- 7. Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- 8. Experience with AWS services (ECS, RDS, ALB, IAM)
- 9. Ability to reason about performance, scalability, and reliability
Nice to Have:
- 1. Experience with monorepos (Turborepo, pnpm workspaces)
- 2. Familiarity with distributed systems and microservice architectures
- 3. Exposure to observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
- 4. Startup or high-ownership engineering experience
AI Engineer
- Experience:- 3 – 7 Years
- Tech Stack: Python / Node.js, LLMs, AWS, APIs
Role Overview:
You’ll build and integrate AI-driven features into the platform, working on orchestration, prompt design, and model integrations. This role focuses on applied AI, not research.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Design and implement AI workflows and orchestration services
- 2. Integrate with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
- 3. Build APIs to expose AI capabilities to backend and frontend services
- 4. Optimize prompt design and model interactions
- 5. Ensure secure, scalable AI service deployment on AWS
- 6. Monitor performance, latency, and cost of AI workloads
- 7. Collaborate closely with backend and product teams
Required Skills:
- 1. Experience working with LLMs and AI APIs
- 2. Strong programming skills in Python or Node.js
- 3. Experience building production-grade AI services
- 4. Understanding of prompt engineering and response evaluation
- 5. Experience deploying AI services in cloud environments
Nice to Have:
- 1. Experience with vector databases or embeddings
- 2. Knowledge of AWS AI services (Bedrock, SageMaker)
- 3. Familiarity with observability and tracing for AI workloads
