OBJECTIVE
The client proposed this project to build a digital platform that empowers companies to put up freight listings, invite bids for the movement of their goods and packages, and conduct relevant negotiations. The purpose of this app is to address the disorganized nature of the freight moving market. Companies repeatedly encounter troubles due to unsystematic price setting, unarranged ETAs, and a lack of a seamless way to choose suitable carriers for their particular shipment. Therefore, we aimed to bring shippers, transporters, and all third-party logistic providers on the same platform and make it easier for businesses to get these carrier services at competitive rates. Also, this web app can be helpful when supply chains are under pressure and need active product delivery.
APPROACH
To actualize this plan, we built a web app where users are provided with an array of questions asking details of their freight job. They can list their freight for transport providers, specify the category of the items they want to move, and choose the types of vehicles as per the requirement. They can also decide their transit routes and delivery dates as well as seek quotes from them with the help of real-time notifications. Moreover, companies can easily send private messages to providers and clarify queries. Finally, for an even better user experience, there is an available option to track your deliveries on the app.
IMPACT
The client experienced more congruous and improved logistics operations. Their delivery rate increased by 20%, whereas costs like warehouse, transport and staff investments to execute logistics processes dropped by around 50%. With this platform, the client doesn’t have to deal with the risks of costly mistakes. They get to save time that was required to carry out various supply chains as they no longer have to worry about paperwork, billing, etc., involved in getting your goods where they need to go.
