With the vision of redefining healthcare in Algeria, the client’s goal was to make the healthcare experience more convenient, connected, and patient-centric. The main aim is to build a healthier future by ensuring that everyone has access to care whenever and wherever they need it. It bridges the gap between patients and healthcare providers by offering convenience in appointment booking.
Project Scope
The project involved designing and developing a mobile app where users can book online appointments with doctors. The app will act as a platform that helps users connect with doctors and professionals across Algeria. You can check the doctor’s availability and book a particular slot as per your schedule.
Challenges and Solutions
While bringing Doctome to reality, we faced certain challenges during our journey, but managed to solve them and make Doctome a success.
Understanding Algeria Healthcare Compliance
Navigating the regulatory landscape was one of our first challenges. Algeria’s healthcare system has strict laws and guidelines concerning patient privacy, data security, and telemedicine practices. Aligning Doctome with these compliance requirements was a challenging task. But, we aligned Doctome with Algeria’s privacy and telemedicine laws through expert audits, ensuring full compliance without compromising functionality.
Integrating Payment Gateway
The payment gateway was native to Algeria’s banking system, which posed a challenge as our team was unfamiliar with the local infrastructure. Giving a smooth and secure payment experience to the patients was a major challenge we faced. However, we collaborated with local financial experts to integrate a secure, compliant payment gateway tailored to Algeria’s banking system.
Outcome
Although Doctome has just launched in Algeria, it has already made a significant impact on healthcare accessibility. The platform has received positive feedback from users, who appreciate the convenience of connecting with healthcare professionals remotely. Patients in remote areas now have easier access to quality healthcare, reducing the burden of travel and long wait times.
